pimpin the wedding bike (i like!)

 another post for my friend's wedding :)
it took a lot of time for me to decide on how to go about the decorations for the wedding give-aways. i know it has something to do with quilling but i didn't know what to do after attaching the quilled flowers. lol Thank you to my ate's suggestion --- the tulle. it added a really nice touch to my finished project.

scrapLOVEbook (daut and twum's wedding scrapbook)

twum and i wrote down our to-do list for her wedding and came up with the idea of a scrapbook instead of a signature frame...

this is where family and friends of the couple can write:
- messages
- (suggest) a name for their soon-to-be baby girl or boy
- pick-up lines

i can already imagine the smiles that this'll bring to the newly weds...

:: scrapbook cover. it's my first try to quill letters and i love it. :)

:: quilled vines and flowers

:: scrapbook cover photo before guests can write their messages

:: the couple will be asking their friends to suggest names for baby boy daut or baby girl wynsum :)

daut: did you WYNSUM or lose some?
wynsum: siempre WYNSUM
daut: baket?
wynsum: kasi pangalan mo palang, pang Pope na... di ba, FRANCIS?

happy quilling everyone... love, love love !

Quilled Butterfly: Husking technique

i was planning to make a tutorial about husking and what i've learned from other quilling blogs in adding a little twist to it (and here comes the...) BUT i didn't have an assistant who can take photos of how i did it (and here's another ....) BUT i'm posting some of the photos anyway...

:: used two colors for my paper strips
:: push pins can be used for husking if you don't have a quilling comb

:: first butterfly wing

:: finished product :)

you may also check the ff articles/blog for additional information about the husking technique:

Special Project_Valentines Day Card 02.14.2013

Breaking news : Sold out V-day cards...
 and that's because i only made 5 of them. lol

since i got so addicted to tri-shutter cards, i didn't even have second thoughts in granting a friend's request to make a Valentines day card for his wife. i told him he can pay me the cost of the materials but he gave me Php50 instead.

and because it's my first time to receive a monetary reward out of the projects i'm making, i am posting zo's valentine's day card for his wife, jen...

colorful shamballa bracelet

i learned making shamballa bracelet in youtube. i was not able to save the link but if you type in "shamballa bracelets" you'll find a lot of tutorials for this craft.

i know it's a bit difficult to find the materials here in Cebu but i found everything in (drum roll) ... Carbon market =)
  •  abaca
  • beads (at Aizilyn)
and here's my finished product

:: you can also make a key holder using the same technique in tying the beads

make your own artploration too ! =)
God bless!

Christmas "tadaaah!" cards

they're really called "pop-up" cards because of it's extra surprise once you opened them =)

i made my first tadaaah! card (lol) on Dec 17 and enclosed it with my Christmas gift for my boyfriend. it's just simple but nothing can go wrong with quilling; it'll give your projects a magic touch.

:: cover page
:: added cut-outs from a Christmas gift wrapper
the second card was given to Nice's godfather as a thank you gift for Christmas...

making your valentine's day more special

i didn't have enough time to make Christmas cards so i'm doing this project for Valentine's day instead.

now that i'm comfortable making tri-shutter cards, i did 3 samples for sale and sent this home. sam (my boyfriend's sister) will take care of the upselling for me or i'll end up giving these cards for free. lol

i hope we can make 3 baybayanons' Valentine's day more special with our cards.

Advance happy heart's day everyone !

:: we've added an "instruction" to post a photo on the last fold of this card

first "biggest" quilling special project

my role on her wedding: POC for the give-aways

this is really exciting but i'm also a bit worried as this is my biggest quilling slash special project ever! i have calculated the number of days i have left to work on 150 quilled flowers. so far, i finished 27 big and 8 small flowers... not bad eh? :)

i'll post the finished product on a different blog. just wanted to give you a sneek peak of what i've accomplished so far. A J A!!!
:: most of the finished products will look like this
:: tangerine + pink paper strips
:: 100 and something more to go

cute punchers from silai and panget

they know how addicted i am to scrapbooking and quilling that they got me new punchers for Christmas. :)

thank you silai and panget !

:: Php380 at CDR King

a try in tri-shutter cards :)

tri-shutter cards are special fold cards which would allow you to combine your quilling and scrapbooking techniques.it looks complicated and i was thinking i'd be wasting a lot of paper before i could perfect the steps. then, i found this video in youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su-3T3sd4r0 and finally had the courage to try making one on my rest day.

since i have problems remembering the steps (unless i write them), i would follow what the host is saying in the video. e.g. "first fold up, second one down..." i know it's funny but this works for me.  lol.

here are some of the tri-shutter cards that i made for my friends on their birthdays:

:: happy birthday gel!

:: added a few stickers inside
:: twum's birthday card

:: inserted one photo on the 3rd fold
 this might just be a simple card but it'll mean a lot to someone if it's made from the heart *wink*

thank you for my new shredder, tiber !

i no longer have to just watch you online...
i no longer have to just view you in youtube...
i finally have you... ^__^

:: got this at National Bookstore for Php928.50
3mm is the right size for quilling and i got more excited to make new projects! :)

i guess the only disadvantage is taking time to cut an A4 size paper lengthwise before putting it inside the shredder. BUT, who would like to think about the cons when i'm already having fun with my gift.

thank you tiber for my (additional) Christmas gift :)
